opinions on your brand or business not by the deals you offer, or exceptional service you
provide, but rather by 3rd party opinions they have read online.

SEO Boca Raton Florida: What is the Google EMD Update?

EMD means “Exact Match Domain.” Google released its long talked about EMD update that is intended to reduce low quality EMD’s from ranking well in search results. For a long time, the SEO world used domains that are keyword and geo targeted as a prerequisite to just about every local business SEO campaign. In Google’s infinite wisdom they have launched this change suddenly and for some of my clients, at a bad time.

 

It’s ok though because the world will not end, yet.  The drops that I have noticed across the web seem to be less than half of 1 percent of top 10 rankings on Google searches seems to have dropped.  If your site has good content, genuine information, a white hat model and solid back links, your site should be minimally affected. Those of you who depended on that domain for rankings will have a rude awakening.

 

In the case of some of my clients, it seems like only those whose sites were launched in the past 3-6 months have been affected by this update. If this assumption/ trend that I have made and seen is true, then young domains beware.  I would say double up the unique content and as always kick up the quality back links. Be proactive with your clients and inform them of the Google change. Don’t give them too much information to where you spark all out panic but its best you tell them before they see a drop in rankings. If you look, sound and act in control, to them, things will be under control.
